Direct Parent PLUS Loans
If you are a dependent undergraduate student, your biological or adoptive parent (or in some cases, your stepparent) may apply for a Direct Parent PLUS Loan. Grandparents (unless they have legally adopted you) and legal guardians are not eligible to apply for a Parent PLUS Loan on your behalf. The maximum amount a parent can borrow is up to your estimated cost of attendance (COA) minus other financial aid received for the academic year. Learn more about the Direct Parent PLUS Loan program.
